Production Manager

About the Role

The production manager will have a thorough understanding of Good Manufacturing Processes. This will include relevant experience in the production of flours from agriculture raw materials especially garri/fufu from cassava. The production manager will demonstrate exceptional planning abilities, which would ultimately translate to high production rates.

  • Planning and organising production schedules

  • Estimating, negotiating, and agreeing on budgets and timescales with clients and managers

  • Assessing project and resource requirements

  • Ensuring health and safety regulations are met

  • Supervising and motivating a team of workers

  • Monitoring production processes and adjusting schedules as needed

  • Ensuring product quality standards are met

  • Liaising with different departments, such as procurement, logistics, and quality control

  • Troubleshooting problems that arise during production

  • Implementing improvements to production processes to increase efficiency and reduce costs


Requirements

  • A Degree or Diploma in food sciences, engineering, technology or business administration in addition to professional qualification such as the Nigerian Institute of Production Management (NIPM) Graduate Membership or Associate Membership (ANIPM) and Certified Production Manager (CPM) and Certified Production Management Professional (CPMP).

  • A minimum of 5 years previous experience working in food manufacturing.

  • Ability to confidently and proactively supervise production teams.

  • Exceptional analytical ability toward solving production-related concerns.

  • Competence with computer-based administration, record-keeping, and procurement systems.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills toward managing human resources and liaising with other departments.

  • Availability to work extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary.
